This document specifies three profiles of OWL 2 that achieve computational efficiency in different ways. OWL 2 profiles are trimmed down versions of OWL 2 that trade expressive power for reasoning efficiency. The three profiles are OWL 2 EL for polynomial-time reasoning, OWL 2 QL for database query applications, and OWL 2 RL for rule-based implementations.
