This study examines the challenges of integrating Artificial Intelligence into UK battlefield command decision-making. Drawing on literature and interviews with defence practitioners, legal experts, and AI adoption leaders, it identifies key issues including technological limits, legal accountability, private-sector involvement, and the impact of frontline AI on the datafication of war. While AI promises greater agility and visibility, its integration will not follow a linear path but is likely to reconfigure operating concepts, command-post infrastructure, and military identity.
